This will be the first taste of a long-term cultural journey, where established and emerging artists and foodies will come together to share something extraordinary.

Since closing as a bus depot, Stratford Junction has sat empty and waiting for a new venture to bring it back to life, adding to the tapestry of attractions that makes Stratford one of the most visited places in the UK.
Good things take time, but we want to get started right away. If you’ve walked over the Stratford Town Centre Link recently you may have noticed bold, eye-catching murals popping up on buses across our site. We’ve been inviting artists from near and far to make their mark, as we start setting the scene for what’s to come.
Stratford Junction is a 2.98 hectare site enclosed on three sides by railway tracks. It has sat vacant since 2012, when it was used for coach parking during the London 2012 Olympics.
We have submitted a planning application for a new meanwhile use, where established and emerging artists and foodies will come together to share something extraordinary.
Our meanwhile use plans include:
Introducing new stepped pedestrian access from the hammerhead on the Angel Lane flyover, as well as step-free access for pedestrians and vehicles via the HS1service lane from Leyton Road.
Ensuring power and water connection are available to support future vendors to set up market stalls on the site.
Establishing an Operational Management Plan which sets out logistics for site access, deliveries/collections and hours of operation; allowing Stratford Junction to operate safely while respecting our neighbours.
In future we also plan to introduce a new pedestrian bridge directly onto the site from the Stratford Town Centre Link. This will be manufactured off site and will be ready to serve the site in its future permanent state
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our pop-up events around Stratford. The survey feedback has been reviewed and helped to inform our plans for the meanwhile use and incorporated into our planning application wherever possible.
